LightBox chef
A “scientist-chef” fascinated by the scientific approach to the art of cooking, just like his idols – Ferran Adria, Heston Blumenthal and Thomas Keller. A creative explorer in pursuit of unusual flavours who loves to experiment and demonstrate that healthy diet catering doesn’t have to be boring.
Łukasz Konik embarked on his culinary adventure in the Gorzów Vocational Culinary School and is a graduate of the Hospitality and Culinary College in Poznań. He has worked in the best restaurants and hotels in Poland and abroad. In 2009 he became a member of the Chefs’ Foundation – the youngest chef to be admitted to this elite Foundation, an association of 27 of the best chefs, many of them TV cooking show personalities.
Łukasz Konik is a frequent guest on popular TV shows and speaks in the press about creative cooking. He is well known to audiences of the TVP 2 breakfast show Pytanie na Śniadanie as well as MasterChef Junior aired on TVN. In his spare time he is a great fan of slag racing.
– My role is to create new dishes and to stay attuned to the needs and expectations of our Customers, which is especially important in diet catering. The team needs to be briefed about new dishes, they also have to be trained, because we are preparing hundreds of boxes a day which translates to thousands of meals. Of course, every dish in diet catering has to be approved by our dietitians to ensure that the calorie count is correct, that it contains all the required nutrients, and doesn’t contain anything deemed undesirable – only then does a dish make it to the LightBox menu.
